Just check the expiry date they're usually fine but the bargain shops often buy bulk medicines that are close to expiry (as in months close, not days close lol)

Been sorting out my emails. I've been getting too many of late that I'm not really interested in. Most are for places I used to use online. Hell some don't half make it hard to unsubscribe. One company did make it easy though as the email comes with a link to unsubscribe, but you did have to give a reason why.
It's fairly easy to block unwanted emails or reroute them to trash/spam.

Hey got a little advice for you. From Martin Lewis the money saver. Don't buy big branded medicines like Immodium, Feminax, Lem-Sip, Beechams, Hayfever medications etc etc. Buy the same generic drug,. Immodium is just Loperamide 2mg, which all supermarkets sell cheaply and pound shop for £1. Look for the product code on the packet which must be displayed and they'll be the same. You're just paying for a big name.
I think he has said that before, either that or I read it somewhere else. It sure is a big saving over the big brands. I remember years ago being given a prescription for hay-fever by the doctor and the chemist gave me an alternative which was cheaper, same thing but had to take two tablets rather than one, but it worked out to be the same dosage.

Same with cleaning products. Bleach is bleach, etc. Why pay more?
I remember that in Chemistry lessons, comparing how diluted value brands were to the more expensive brands
2L of expensive bleach is not necessarily equivalent to 2L of inexpensive bleach

Just spent over 20 minutes waiting for my call to Virgin Money to be answered and less than 1 minute talking (Only had one question) then 2 minutes on the computer and all is done. It's so annoying that you can spend more time in a queue waiting to speak to someone, than you do talking to a person.

Just been to Tesco to get the beers for the weekend. First till I tried someone couldn't get their banking app to work, so I moved to the 2nd one and this was the same and all they wanted was a loaf of bread, the best of it was this blokes young daughter said, daddy haven't you got money on you this is embarrassing I laughed but he didn't see the funny side of it and stared me out. The woman at the till said, this happens a lot and it's usually because they've either got a new phone or have logged out and can't remember the logging in details.

I was in a Coop week before last and there were three teens picking up some chocolate and co*kes. The boy with an armful of goodies went to the elf-service till and the other two laughed at him and said "oi grandad don't forget your meals on wheels"
Apparently I learned today that it's pretty uncool these days to use the self-service.
Who'd a thunk it?

I would have thought it would have been the other way round. At the Tesco I use I would say there were more youngsters using the self service.

If you go along with the general belief about younger people (which I don't), they use the self-service because they don't have the patience to queue.
But given there's usually a queue at the self service, and its often longer than the manned till, maybe they have their heads screwed on right after all

The time I go is around 6pm or after and it' quite a bit more busy on the self service than the manned tills, but still more young people using it.
Maybe it's depends on what supermarkets you use. I don't see many people using the scanner you walk about with as you shop, now a days.

A chap came to our door on Thursday asking if we’d be interested in delivering meals on wheels. Apparently they’re promoting it around the country.

I'd assumed it had stopped years ago, but that's great news for those people who can't get out and about.

A few years ago MrsD and her sister volunteered to do meals on wheels, but they ended up cooking the meals instead.

Ooh that's a bit harsh offer to have a nice day out delivering stuff to happy people and then get stuck in doing all the hard work lol. Still, great credit to them for doing it, can't deliver if there aint nothing to deliver.

Out on my own tonight. My mate's have fallen ill. Off to the Colebrook Inn, to see Outlanders play. Have seen them play quite a few times, but they are always very good. I expect the pub will be very busy, it usually is where ever they play.

I've popped out for an early dinner and beer. Also on my own. Sometimes it's easier that way!

I always find someone to talk to, when out on my own. This is how I meet these friends I go out with now, after the last one's moved on.

Another weekend almost over.
Done some cleaning, dusting and vacuum over the place this morning.
The nights are drawing in already, just had to put the lights on to type out this post.

I took my final training session yesterday and became a fully fledged Volunteers Rep for my organisation.
Not sure what I've let myself in for but I've a feeling it's going to involve a lot of meetings and learning more new things, I hope my head doesn't explode as it gets over full

It'll probably be a steep learning curve, but fwiw I think you'll be very good at it.
